I accomodated what I wanted by selecting another precinct using the VIBS option - loading the VIBS 4K card into slot 2.  I'm interpreting what your saying is that this is not necessary.  Can you point me to the documentation for the VIBS use of the unit?  Or just explain what you mean by use of the * key.  Is there some sign on the display to indicate that you are burning a vibs?

You shouldn't be able to load VIBS into entry one and "NOVIBS" into 2.  That's not how it works;  everything is "loaded" as "NOVIBS".  You toggle VIBS/NOVIBS on any entry with the * key after everything is loaded.

Loading a VIBS card after the same NOVIBS one should just be like trying to load the same card into two slots.  It should just say "Loaded." when you insert the VIBS card, before you hit any button.  If it isn't behaving like this, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Never-mind.  I didn't get that you had to type in the register number when you wanted to load a different one.  Sorry about that.

If you are loading Spyrus with cards, and you want to load a VIBS and NONVIBS into registers 1 and 2, when it sees the precinct ID on the second card, it asks if you want to RELOAD it into register 1, rather than loading the VIBS into register 2.  It needs to see that these are different during the load.  Same of course would hold for Challenge/Provisional voters.

Posted on behalf of Kerry and Sherry, since Bexar County does not appear to have a project manager yet.

Bexar wants to use the Spyrus readers, and are going to run VIBS.  Here is one straightforward proposal.  When the user hits the * key at the Create? prompt, a 'V' appears to the left of the prompt, indicating that the card it to be created for VIBS.  Pressing the * key again toggles off VIBS, and the 'V' disappears.  Each card insertion resets the state to not-VIBS.

This is complete.  0.2.1 will be ready for testing tomorrow.
