RE: AVTS - CE - 4.0.6

Isn't Wyle installing a revolving front door in their office just for us?  Or is every vendor like this?

That is exactly how they process the source code.  The issue is of raising a red flag when they see the code changing near certification time.  They then question how stable and tested is this code.

Of course this also relates to other states as well.  If Wyle certifies version aa.bb.cc and then at a later date we ask State A to certify aa.bb.ee, a red flag is raised and we go back to Wyle to get conditional certification, because the State will not exceed the Wyle version.  That is why certification must be a constant process as opposed to how we handled it in the past.

We will get though this.  Plasma is cheap.

Don't bleed too much on the carpet, Larry.  It's expensive to clean.

Is it worth while for them to fully examine the source code of one version and then for Global to submit a change list for them to review.  Then they could concentrate on one version of source, complete it, then examine the areas of the source that are affected by those changes instead of starting over.  If they are worried about subterfuge, they can always take the original source, electronically compare it to the changed source and print a difference list.  When dealing with source code, there's nothing to hide.  It's all right there.

Or are the changes so monstrous that a change list would be as big as the source code itself.

I do not see that we have any choice but to continue testing with 4.06.  I will have to fall on my sword with Wyle to get them to buy into this.

The reason that we are up to 4.0.6 is because of bugs that would affect the certification process.  I asked this question to Don last week, about what Versions we should be using of both GEMS & AVTS.  So, I ask once again, which versions are we going to use???

Are there any skeletons (bugs) in the closet on 4.03 that will cause us problems for this volume test?  Also I am not sure it is wise to get too far ahead in Georgia since they will depend on the report from Wyle.  It only means that once we finish Wyle at 4.03 we will have to go back and get conditional certification on 4.06.

Yes, I was doing it for the Wyle volume test.  I did not know what version Wyle had.  Do you want me to do it in version 4.0.3???  If so, then I will need to set my AVTS back to 4.0.3 for this testing, then back up to 4.0.6 for Georgia testing.  Please let me know.

Is this for the Wyle volume test?  We currently have 4.03 at Wyle and I see that you are setting this up on 4.06.  This could be problematic.

I go to record a script in AVTS - CE - 4.0.6 and get the error - ERROR - SEH Exeception c0000005.  I press the F2 function key to bring up the File Save Dialog Box, enter in a file name under the /Storage Card directory, select OK at Loop Count Box, then get the above error message.
