This problem exists in 4.0.9 and 4.1.0.2. It is now fixed and will be in 4.0.10 and 4.1.0.3.

Subject: Ballot Station 4.1.0.2 boot with voter card inserted

Booting the AccuVote-TS R6 with a voter card inserted into the card reader causes the message 'Remove unknown card from reader' to appear on the Ballot Station desktop. After removal of the voter card, however, the message does not disappear. It is necessary to reboot the unit.
