This was (unfortunately) discovered during the
March primary - we had lost our Spyrus and our backup and went to take a TS unit
down in the field to create voter cards.
The new software allows access to create voter
cards only in pre election mode which means wiping out (ending the
election) the totals on that unit - which is not an option.
After Discussion with Tab about what to do we
have some options and I would appreciate feedback :
A: Make a separate Poll book
exe like we had that could be loaded onto the TS unit and Accessed somehow from
election mode.
B: Put a second window or
screen in the end election menu screen that says "Create Voter Access
Cards" and gets you out without exiting Emode - thus saving the counts on
that unit.
C: Make it a separate box and
option using a different access card ( like the Manager/Administrator card) and
a different code.
All ideas are welcome and this is probably
pretty high on the list to get done before someone runs into it like I
did.
