Subject: Election Options - Recount
Reporting Set drop down, causes problems uploading to accuvote os if the
default reporting set is not specified regardless of whether 'set for recount'
option is selected.

Specifying a
recount of other than the default of 'All Races', from the Election
Options' screen and then going back to the 'Election Options' screen and
deselecting the option 'Set for Recount' causes error msgs when uploading to
accuvote os. When you deselect the 'Set for Recount' option it seems to
change the 'Recount Reporting Set' drop down to 'All Races' but if you go back
to the 'Election Options' screen, you notice that it still displays the
reporting set you had created. Although the 'Set for Recount' option is
deselected, when you upload to accuvote o/s, you will get an error msg that
says "MSG
OUT OF SYNC." Which is a result of not having 'All Races' specified in
the 'Recount Reporting Set' drop down menu.
STEPS TO
REPRODUCE
1. From
Setup/Reporting Sets, create a new reporting set
2. From
Setup/Elections, click on the 'Recount' tab
3. Check off
'Set for Recount' and from the 'Recount Reporting Set' drop down, select the
reporting set you created in step 1
4. Click on
'OK'
5. Go to
Setup/Elections and click on the 'Recount' tab
6. Uncheck
'Set for Recount.'
7. You will
notice that the 'Recount Reporting Set' drop down defaults to 'All
Races'
8. Click on
'OK'
9. Go to
Setup/Elections and click on the 'Recount' tab
RESULT: You
will notice that the drop down menu still displays the name of the reporting
set you had selected in step 3
Try uploading
to the accuvote os.
RESULT: You
will get an error msg on the o/s as well as on the the screen that says 'MSG
OUT OF SYNC', which is a result of not having the default reporting set
defined in the 'Election Options' screen.
