Re: Need Restart requirement after AVTS installation

I was not be able to reproduce it. Probaly there were some errors during Ballot Station's execution, I'll look into that.

So is there a solution to this?? Or is a complete re-install of 3.10.22 required?  Ian, call me Monday AM.  If there's a way to handle it in Marin so we don't have to send a new one, I'm all for it. Thanks

Subject: Need Restart requirement after AVTS installation

When performing a AVTSIS install (in this case 3.10.22) on an AV-TS unit(white/blue), the Install Shield should prompt the user with a FINISH button to restart Windows prior to running the program.

After running Install Shield, the screen goes straight back to the desktop.  If you run Ballot Station before rebooting Windows, when shutting down the unit through the ballot station program, the "Please Wait" screen is displayed and never displays "Safe to turn off."

The only way to exit is to power the unit OFF (Ctrl-Alt-Del does nothing).  When powering back up, the system goes through a SCANDISK because it didn't shutdown properly.  Then it auto starts Ballot Station, then when exiting ballot station the "Please Wait" comes up, etc., etc.

If the Install Shield came up with a FINISH prompt that automatically restarted Windows, that would prevent this condition from occurring ever again.
