RE: vote center id automatically created with precinct id

I heartily endorse this idea!  However, the default numbers of the default V.C.s need to be changed.  To what?  Default Polling V.C. could be 0, but what about the Default Cumulative V.C.?  Can the idea of default V.C.s be re-worked to alleviate any problems?

This RCR is from me - support division.

 

Motivation is that once report precincts are created (along with corresponding vote center ) you have to go to each individual vote center and change the id -  MOST of us will want the Vote center id to match the precinct id ao if gems could automatically assign the vote  center the same id as the the precinct this would eliminate hours of data entry.

 

The change requested is this -

as you add a new reporunit - the id that the report unit has will also be the id that the gems created vote center has -  thus eliminating the necessity of changing the vote center ids each time a database is created.

 

This request is purely selfish and could be added to the next scheduled Gems upgrade -  no specific time/deadline is needed.

 

Input from other support staff will be appreciated.
