RE: Add Candidate/Question Proofing Report to Pre-Election Reports

See attached.  There was an attempt to do the report outside crystal last year, but it didn't materialize.  I assume another run will be made at it this year.  In the mean time, just use the ballot proofs.

Subject: Add Candidate/Question Proofing Report to Pre-Election Reports

Date Requested:    February 13, 2001
Requested By:    Dakota, Anoka, and Washington Co.'s in Minnesota and Hamilton Co., TN
Date Needed:    By November 1, 2001 (MN county wide School Board elections are in November)

Description:    The above named accounts would like to have a new pre-election report that would produce candidate and question text as it is to appear on the ballot for proofing purposes. Suggested report format would follow the current pre-election report "Races With Candidates".

Motivation:    A Pre-Election Report that would allow the GEMS operator to print candidate names and question text as it will appear on the ballot would allow the GEMS operator to have another person proof the candidates' names and question text without the cumbersome task of printing numerous ballot styles for the proofing process.

Arizona and Wyoming, as well as this support person, would like a report that prints the ballot text (candidate names, and headers and prop text ) for proofing -  they have Precinct committee people and in a primary this involves printing ALL the ballots for the candidates to sign off -

You have submitted an RCR for this before.  It is on our list, but not easy to do.  Seagate software's knowledgebase puts it well.

Keep in perspective that you need to proof all(1) the ballots anyway.  This feature would definately be nice, but you still need to do the work at the end of the day.

(1)  You wouldn't have to use caps if you didn't send everything in bold.  Ditto to Nel.
