RE: Card Manager 0.2.4

Let's be clear - it is important for the poll worker to know if a voter has cast their ballot with the smartcard.  We should know if the elector has voted, or the card is blank.

I agree with Ken on this.  This is a marketing function to meet the requirement that we know whether the voter cast their ballot or not.

If I may suggest, program the Card Manager to wait until the user pull the card out.  It's kind of an intuitive action, isn't it?

Can't argue with that.  We'll make it so.

If the user inserts the card, why does it matter whether it's blank or not?  In other words, why tell them that the card is being cleared?  Just clear it.

This probably won't fly however.  One nice use for the Spyrus is to give one to the poll worker responsible for collecting cards from voters -- that way they can check to see that the voter actually cast their ballot and let them know if they didn't.  If I hand you a voter card and ask "what ballot is this?", all you have to do is slip it into a Spyrus to find out.  You loose that capability if we just unilaterally clear any card we come across.  Let us know what you think.
