    Both of these requests have been made before and have both been rejected for security reasons.
  1. Cut hole to give access to the YES & NO buttons.  The reason the buttons are behind the door is to REQUIRE the use of the key to access them so that votes cannot use them improperly.  There may be an argument for allowing access to the YES button for processing overrides but definitely not the NO button.
  2. Opening in the Accu-Vote printer cover.  The original Accu-Votes had this but it was removed since is was possible for voters to 'pull' the paper out and thereby destroy the 'audit' information on it.  Various state certifying boards were insistent this not be possible.
