Re: How is the acmStream opened?

In GEMS Race Editor I recorded the race header and played it back, then touched the OK and got the "Failed to open the acmStream".

Touched Play a second time and got the MCI device prompt.

Tried as you suggested (open programs->accessories->entertainment->soundrecorder) and saved recording in .wav format in Sound Recorder.

With GEMS?  If so, what did you do different this time then the time below?
After I touch the OK key and try it again, I get the following message

Try what again.

One thing you might try as a data point is open programs->accessories->entertainment->soundrecorder and see if you can record audio and save in either format with that.  Does that work?

I downloaded windows media player 7.1 as suggested, changed to 22.05 khz 16 bit mono with the same "Failed to open acmStream" result.
