Re: Precinct check number on AVOS tape



The question is posed because a customer asked if that number needed to be changed -and if the number had anything to do with the accuvote not reading the ballots correctly.

Don't follow the question.  It is a number generated based on the static data on the memory card.  It is different from memory card to memory card.  It doesn't change after the card is downloaded.

Its a checksum of the static data on the memory card.
