RE: ftp site inaccessible to customers

FTP access:All Support personnel need read and write access to a company FTP site, by pid if necessary, large enough (~50 meg) to allow files that are larger than many mail boxes can accommodate to be disseminated to our customers. This functionality is a vital part of the support endeavor.

Tari,

Are you sure that customers cannot access the ftp site?  I just tried from one of Alameda's county computers and it wasn't a problem. I remember there being some discussion about using the ftp protocol versus http protocol to access the site.  I also received "you don't have permission" when I used http.

Try typing the following in your browser's address line:  ftp://ftp.gesn.com

Importance: High

How are we to be able to upgrade our customers if they are denied access to the ftp site to download the necessary files?
We cannot email them as they are too big - and when we do their audio how do we get them the files?

Please address this as we have people who need access and cannot get in.
Thank you
Tari
