RE: Leaving Memory Card in Unit when Transferring Results

If the unit is turned off prior to transfering results via modem would it
make a difference? It was my understanding that a memory card had to be in
the unit if it is turned off and then turned back on prior to the transfer.
Inquiring minds want to know.

The memory card must be installed in order to transfer results for the
memory card, but need not be present in order to transfer results from the
Results Accumulator, provided results have been accumulated to the machine.

I have heard rumors that the memory card has to be left in the TS unit when
transferring results. I can't find anything in the manual to support this.
Can anyone tell me with certainty whether or not this is the case and why?
Thanks.
