I got the same problem as you when I tried upgrading.  I messed with the registry, and upped the MaxLocksPerFile from 9500 to 256,000.  I have put the upgraded database in incoming as epc118.zip.  Same password.

I don’t really recommend anyone try this at home.  Hopefully it will not come up often.  If it turns out to be a reoccurring problem, we’ll try to find a better way to do the upgrade.

yes I get an internal error on the cards cast report for the EV counter group -  the database is epc.zip in the incoming directory - pw is marooned -  and it is also the one I get the upgrade error on - would rather not mess with registry just yet -

the attached is from El Paso - this is the report he needs and error he gets

You should call it a bug for sure, but we might end up having to call it a limitation.  If you are brave, you could try changing the registry.  You could also zip and passwd the 1.17 gbf, and someone here might try to upgrade it for you.

What feature are you trying to get with 1.18 for your totals?  The cards cast work?

same error trying it again - problem with resetting is that I want to have totals in it so if I clear them I defeat the purpose -  guess we should call it a bug

You might try again.  If it happens again, its no fluke.

A google search turns up lots of hits on the problem.  I am not sure I recommend messing with the registry.

Try clearing counters (reset election) before your upgrade.  If I had to guess, it is the counter table that is failing you.
