RE: 1-17-11 bottom race margin buttons broken

You said " - NOT EVEN".  What is not even?  Since that sentence lacks a subject for its predicate, I had to assume you meant the race text is not even.  It is.  The "Vote For One" part of the race text falls below the 12th timing mark, so the candidates can't start until after the 13th.

Ok I am going to admit I don't see how the 12th timing mark has to do with this - please enlighten me -

Turn on gridlines.  The "Vote For One" text drops below the 12th timing mark.  Note this has nothing to do with write-ins.

test db attached - in 1-17-11
race 80 has write in text - squished
race 100 has no write in text and 2 carriage returns
race 110 has no write in text and no carriage returns

No, it doesn't.  See posting guidelines.  Post a toy database that demonstrates your problem, or enough information to otherwise reproduce it.  Bonus points for finding out which release broke the expected behaviour, so we can roll back the change if necessary.  In this case I suspect nothing is wrong, but I can only guess at this point.

As an aside, increasing race margin isn't going to give you any more room for write-ins.  The two have nothing to do with one another.

am trying to get some room under write in line -  margin at 10 should do it -  even with the write in text taken out -  work around was to put 2 carriage returns in the write in text box -  that put space under write in line and brought line up so it didn't sit on race line -
Does that tell you more - or just complicate things?

Bet it is, but there isn't enough information in your post to tell.
