RE: Provide audio for R6 modem transmission



This is basically impossible, unfortunately.  Classic modems like the USR Sportster and the pocket modems in the AVOS have built in speakers that are more-or-less hardwired to the line, so you can hear the dial tone.  PCMCIA modems do not have speakers.  (If someone knows of a counterexample, I would be pleasantly surprised).

Audio would be a definite benifit when using the R6 for modem transmission.  Hearing a dial tone, listening for the dialling process is very useful when trying to upload by modem
