- Project Manager types in the field need to be able to
create Manager Cards. Using the Spyrus, it is quite easy (yes, being
somewhat careless, but I've done it and seen others do it also) to wipe out
the manager card on the Spyrus. I've got 2 wiped out cards at home. We then
don't have any way to re-create it without sending it to Texas. This
request has been made before. Can we please get whatever program makes
Manager Cards posted on the FTP site?
Currently the only way to produce a manager card is
with the old EBS 2000 software for the Black Wedges. Support should be
able to post the EBS 2000 Install Suite, but make sure you don't load it onto
a unit with current BS or GEMS software. I believe they are
incompatible. Ask Don V. to organize that for you.
You'll have to talk to Software development about
developing a method within GEMS to create manager cards. If we had that
facility, we would be able to use the new 4KBit cards as manager cards.
I believe there is an outstanding RCR on this.
- don't understand your BTW comment about being able to
load 6 cards onto one master card. How do you do this? Loading 6
cards onto a Spyrus I understand, but not onto a smart card.

If you only have fewer than six precincts,
you can fit all six onto one "master card". You don't need a "master
card" for each precinct, unless you need to program each Spyrus with only
one precinct ID. Why do you think you need to program six "master
cards"?

Manager Card is definitely required. The Manager Card is inserted
into the Spyrus to format it and make ready for the master cards to
follow, maximum of 6.
Luckily I have one Manager Card
here.
