Re: Election Results recovery when both PCMCIA & AVTS unit fail

Refer to section 9.10.5 Restoring results in the AccuVote-TS User's Guide for information on restoring results from AccuVote-TS backup media if the PCMCIA card only fails.  If the unit only fails, the card is available for use.  If both are damaged beyond repair, print reports provide a record of votes cast if they have been printed, otherwise, results for the precinct(s) counted on the unit should be available from GEMS provided results have been uploaded.  If multiple units are used for counting at the polling location, results tabulated onto the remaining units' paper tapes should be deducted from GEMS election results for the polling location.

Subject: Election Results recovery when both PCMCIA & AVTS unit fail

If by some chance, both the PCMCIA card is damaged or fails and the AVTS is damaged or fails.  What would be the procedure to get the results from that PCMCIA card or AVTS unit???

This was a question that Johnson County, KS wanted an answer to.

Thanks,
